Hello Everyone,

We’ll be heading to JumpTime in downtown Boise TOMORROW, Thursday, March 14th.  This is a FREE outing for teens, just turn in your permission slip! We’ll be departing the community centers after school, and returning at around 5:30 PM.  Bring a friend.  This is open to any middle school and high school students.

We’ll be going to the BOISE RESCUE MISSION on THURSDAY, January 17th at 3:30 PM!  Collect a permission slip from the Community Center office.  The Boise Rescue Mission is a pinnacle organization in Boise, and their volunteer program is put together very well.   We’ll be sorting donated goods to be distributed to in-need families.  We’ll be volunteering from 4-6 PM, and return to the community center by 6:30 PM. 

This trip is open to any Jr. High or High School students.  Speak with your teen center staff for more information!

Our first meeting of 2013 will be on Wednesday, January 9th @ Whitney Community Center from 4-5 PM.  We’ll be discussing trips to the Boise Rescue Mission, Martin Luther King Jr. March on Monday, January 21st, and a sledding at Bogus Basin.

Our meetings are open to any Jr. High or High school students.  Food provided.  Come hang out, eat some food, and share any ideas.

Hey Everyone,

TeenSide Meeting this month, Wednesday, November 7th from 4-5 PM @ Whitney Community Center.  We’ll be talking about Rake Up Boise on Saturday, November 10th.  TeenSide is a drop-in program, open to any High School and Jr. High students. 

If you need transportation from Morley Nelson Community Center or Grace Jordan Community Center, we’ll be picking up students at 3:30 from Morley Nelson, and 3:45 at Grace Jordan. If you need transportation, turn in a permission slip which is available at each Community Center. 

Hey Everyone…Last Reminder:  Halloween Teen Night Dance Party is TONIGHT at the FORT BOISE Community Center.  Free Food, Live DJ, Games, door prizes, photo booth, and of course candy.  The dance runs from 8-10

If you need transportation, we will be picking up students at TWO different times, today from Whitney, Grace Jordan, and Morley Nelson Community Centers. Morley Nelson at 5:45 and 7:45, Grace Jordan at 6:00 and 7:30, and Whitney at 6:15 and 7:15 (the earlier time at each center is for anyone who wants to help decorate and set up). Make sure you have your transportation permission slip turned in. Forms are located at your community center. Transportation back to the community centers will depart from Fort Boise at 10:00 PM.

Our first TeenSide meeting of this school year will be NEXT WEEK,  at the WHITNEY COMMUNITY CENTER on Wednesday, October 3rd, from 4-5 PM. Come hang out, discuss activities and volunteer projects we can piece together, bring your friends, and eat some pizza.

Remember, TeenSide is free and open to ANY Jr. High or High School student. We have a teen Halloween party to plan, Rake Up Boise is right around the corner, and we’ve been contacted by a few individuals and agencies looking for assistance.

If you’re not familiar with TeenSide, drop-in at our meeting, have some food and just kick back.  If you’re looking for volunteer hours and job experience, TeenSide is an easy way to get involved with the community by creating and taking part in rewarding projects.

Hey Everyone…Due to everyone having a ton of fun this summer, we’ve moved our meeting to TOMORROW (Tuesday, July 24th) at Whitney Community Center.  We’ll be meeting from 2-3 pm, and be talking about detailed plans for our scavenger hunt at the Idaho State Old Penitentiary. I toured the Old Pen last week, and it’s really an amazing place.  If you have never been there before, you SHOULD check it out.  Or better yet, join in on the scavenger hunt that will be held in August.  

On Wednesday, July 25th, we will NOT be meeting. 

On Thursday, July 26th, we’ll be visiting local businesses to collect donations for the event.  We’ll talk more about this Tomorrow.

Hello Everyone,

Our July monthly meeting will be on Wednesday, July 11th @ Whitney Community Center from 2-3 PM.  We’ll be talking about our scavenger hunt event location possibilities, narrowing down rules and structure of the event, and compiling a list of local business we could approach for event donations.

Transportation from Morley Nelson and Grace Jordan Community Centers will be at 1:30 PM.
